Growling Frog Golf Course hosts new Australian Golfing Tournament

The Inaugural Hacker Team Skins Golf Classic will be held at the Graham Marsh designed Growling Frog Golf Course on Saturday 31 May 2008.

Course pro Wayne Rogers says the team skins event will give amateur golfers a taste of what it's like for the pros. "Every keen golfer has seen the pros tee up for the big money in skins tournaments," he says. "Well, the Hacker Team Skins Golf Classic is now giving regular golfers their chance to win thousands of dollars worth of prizes."

This is how the event works: a prize will be awarded to the team with the best score for each hole. If there's a tie, the prizes jackpot to the next hole.

The entry fee is $75 per player or $300 for a group of four. It includes 18 holes, a presentation dinner after your round, a player pack valued at $25 and the exhilaration of playing in a skins event for fantastic prizes! You can enter as a group or as individuals with a shotgun start from 12.45 pm.

Northpoint Senior's Pro-AM raised funds for Northern Hospital

The inaugural Northpoint Seniors Pro-Am, held on Friday 18 April, commenced under perfect conditions which set up a memorable day for the 48 Senior Professionals and 49 Amateur players. The field included such champions as Rodger Davis and Geoff Parslow. Sponsored by Northpoint Pty Ltd, the tournament raised funds for the Northern Hospital.

In addition to the $10,000 prize purse, Trevor Gorman, the Managing Director of Northpoint, presented a cheque for $15,000 to Dr Andrew Perrignon, Managing Director of Northern Health, from the funds raised by 14 sponsor companies playing in the event. Mr Gorman said, “I am delighted with the success of the day and I wish to thank the sponsor companies for their generosity”, adding that the funds raised will go to the Northern Health Academic & Research Precinct to be located at the hospital.
