Recent Course Improvements
Over 300 Redgum Tree seedlings have been planted to build on the existing nature character of the site. To ensure the protection of the sites biodiversity the seedlings used within these plantings were grown from seed collected from Redgum Trees located on the golf course.
Extensive replanting has occurred along Barbers Creek, the creek that bisects the course, to extend the habitat available for the sites local fauna, including the Growling Grass Frog.
Over 800 square metres of new garden bed areas has been constructed to build on the visual amenity of the course, as well as assisting in the protection of tee and green areas.
Over 600 metres of new granitic sand pathways have been created to provide a better amenity for golfers during wetter weather.
Course Conditions During Summer
During the upcoming summer months golfers can expect to continue play on well maintained and watered tees, fairways and greens. The Growling Frog is irrigated with recycled water and water restrictions do not apply for irrigation of the golf course.
Our greens have recently been renovated and have a reputation for true putting surfaces.

Greening Australia's Urban Bushcare Program
Greening Australia has chosen the Growling Frog Golf Course as one of the sites to pilot their Urban Bushcare Program. The aim of the Program is to facilitate crucial on-ground environmental restoration activity and engage and educate the community in regard to urban biodiversity conservation.
To ensure the long term preservation and enhancement of the site a number of land management issues must be addressed including the control of rabbits and foxes, plus the restoration of critical habitats which will assist in the recovery of endangered native flora and fauna.
This project is of high importance to the City of Whittlesea and will help ensure the long term viability of the Growling Frog Golf Course's future walking trails and environmental zones.
A launch of the Program will be held on Wednesday, 17 October 2007 at the course and a big thanks to La Trobe University's Graduate School of Management for supporting this event.

Northpoint Trainee Pro-Am Tournament
The Northpoint Trainee Pro-Am Tournament was held on Monday, 17 September 2007. Congratulations to Wade Lowrie (trainee professional at the Growling Frog) who scored a two under round of 70 for his first win in professional ranks.
